600 staples.

Surfside RV Resort, Parksville BC (2 stars)

What would we have done in the good old days. In these good new days, Lee researched and ordered a laptop battery, searched and found a source for some RV blind parts, evaluated, ordered and have ready for pickup a brad and staple nailer. And that was all done mostly before lunch. Oh yes, and renewed a membership, found a restaurant in Courtenay and reserved a place for us. And we both took some photos to use as reference for upcoming projects.

Do you remember when you took the roll of film and mailed it back to Kodak. No thank you.

At the moment the only good thing about the good old days is the fabulous live recording of Live at Leeds by the Who that we are currently listening to. And of course the company of my best friend and wife, Lez.

Lez is in destruction mode: We have decided we will be removing the current set of valances and fancy side coverings over our blinds. I have some fabric (really) that has been hanging around for several years (LOL - another no surprise) and as I am going thru the stash - er - collection I have come across another UFO (sigh!). It is a table runner at the moment, but the original 2007 EQ5 (I'm now using EQ8) pattern shows this should be a table cover 120 x 65. SO, that UFO will be moved closer to the top of the pile to be done, and the one fabric from the collection that we both like will be used for the new top-only valances. The 5 meters should be enough. A loud guffaw inserted here. 12 valances!

Now, regarding the blog phrase I used - in order to determine what product was used to cushion the valance, I took apart most of the valance we removed from the wall. The fabric was stapled on into the wood, with a very thin foam between. In some spots there were 3 to 5 staples right beside each other. We will re-use some of the wood "product", and we will also wait until warmer, dry weather and will work on it outside so a staple isn't lost in the carpet. Again.

Now. off to construction mode and my "space" at the sewing/quilting table.
