Surfside RV Resort, Parksville BC (2 stars)

Lee listened to Lez who said that he should give junior B hockey a try. And so we did. We had a great time watching the Oceanside Generals spot the Port Alberni Bombers four goals and then come back with eight straight. That's junior hockey.

Lez spent much of the day working on some quilt block patterns: Learned a couple of new techniques in the software too. We had home made Nasi Goring for dinner - quite a pile of spiced lines up and tossed into the rice, cleared out a few veggies and fried up pieces of ham to finish off the dish. With full tummies we headed out to the Howie Meeker Rink in the Oceasnside Place Arena in Parksville. Truly just a quick drive up to the other side of town. The areana is remiscent of the days of watching the Regina Pats in the old "barn". This is even smaller but perfect for the population and the fans cheered loudly. We sat high enough we could see above the glass and placed ourselves at centre ice. Best spot to catch the 8-5 win by the Oceanside Generals. Popcorn and pop accompanied the game - as is a hockey tradition.
