Port Ordze, Sherwood Park, AB (2 stars)

Lee got his fill of aircraft and speed at the Alberta Air Show held in Villeneuve. The A-10 Warthog and CF-18 Hornet were the highlights. He is still amazed at how a CF-18 can come towards him perfectly quiet until right over head at which point those massive thrust engines make that familiar roar.

Lez sighs: That WOW sigh of did not expect that nice surprise. We decided last evening to take in the quickly put together Alberta International Airshow held at the airfield outside Villeneuve AB. Lots of aircraft, including a Herc that people could go in and even sit at the controls. We didn't go in, but a lot of people with big smiles came out. My big smile - back in the mid 70's I was certified to fly a single engine 2-seater Piper Cherokee. There was a Piper (not a Cherokee, but really close to what I flew). Made my day. We took over 200 photos and are culling through them to choose a few for the blog.
