Relaxing on the Karau acreage.

Karau Acreage (2 stars)

We have had a great time with Joyce and Dan and that continued today. After Lez made pannekoeken for the four of us, we continued to chat and enjoy the company. Dan was also able to give Lee several pointers about RV maintenance that will definitely come in handy down the road.

There are many gopher holes near the Schooner. Because they are pests, it is not uncommon, as we did, to conveniently put our tank hose into one of them as a sewer connection. Dan has poured water into them for hours, and they still did not fill up.

We spent the final few hours of the evening sitting in our Schooner, talking about life and promising to get together again, somewhere, after they also become full time RVers.

Lez notes: our hosts are Quilts of Valour representatives which is how our connection started. Learning we were travelling the area, we were invited to use their yard to park for a couple of days if we needed to or were interested. WOW - what wonderful hosts they are and what conversations carried on!

They have a quilt shop on their location - the Perfect Tension Quilts and Crafts just outside Esterhazy. I showed Joyce how to make placemats from on old Earthly Goods/Robin Scott pattern. For those who sew/quilt - there is NO hand stitching needed to finish them off!

We ended our visit later in the evening - popcorn around our RV table. Again, no end of conversation. And we will, at some point meet up again - at some RV campground on the prairies!
