Lilies of the ditch.

Map - To Kipling and back

Klassic RV Park, Kenosee (1 star)

Lee put together a loop around Moose Mountain during which we could see a few elevators. Well, add a few other elevators we encountered along the way that are lonely sentinels outside of even the smallest villages.

Kipling is a nice place with quite a bit of history, including of that dude who traded up from a paper clip to getting a house in Kipling. There is a neat, large red paper clip in town to celebrate the achievement.

At the end of the day, Chuck finally got a bath, sort of. Washed off a good portion of the gravel and mud.

Lez groans - Lily of the Valley! But in all fairness, the lilies were the Prairie Lily and the were in the ditches. SO beautiful! I feel a quilt block design coming.

After our wander, I had that urge to visit a quilt shop, and fortunately Carlyle has one, Sew and Sews, and it was only 22 klicks away. So off I went! And yes, I purchased just the right orange bali fabic to start a Lily quilt block. Small world - quilt shop felt "familiar" like a shop in Hanna AB. Well the two shop owners grew up in Carlyle! Similar country farming atmosphere - and very comfortable.

Speaking of comfort, we managed to keep the RV at a reasonable temperature for Hobbes while we were poking around today. That it is going to be a challenge over the next few days. High temperature records are being upped all over the west.

Looking forward to meeting new folk next Esterhazy. Quilters, of course!
