Cannington Manor was one man's dream of setting up a village on the prairies in the style suited to English gentry. The town was abandoned after the CPR made the decision not to put a rail spur through the village.

The All Saints Anglican church was the first Anglican church consecrated on the prairies west of Winnipeg.

The flour mill had a steam engine for power. It burned upwards of six cords of wood a day. In perspective, we burned about two cords all winter long in our fireplace on 189 Street.
