Hanging around Estevan.

Woodlawn Campground, Estevan (2 stars)

Lee headed over to the Estevan Museum to look at some old coal mining equipment on display. Some were built as early as 1932 and worked until the 1980's. The most unique piece was a walking dragline. It used an oblong technique to move the unit. As it turned, it essentially lifted the whole unit off the ground, supported by a couple of skids on which the oblong pieces were fitted.

The campground is full, especially with children. They are playing all over the site. True to kids having fun, the most popular is not a play set or swings, but rather a pile of sand being used to fix potholes in the campground's roads.

Lez relaxes: It was a very quiet day around the Schooner as Lee wandered over to see an outdoor display of some mega-huge Heritage Mining Equipment used in the coal mining south of Estevan. Hobbes and I spent a lazy day - he slept a lot and I spent time going through our grain elevator photos we have taken over the years. I'm recording where they are (or were) and what year we saw them.

Lee BBQ'd chicken for dinner and I made the creamy garlic pasta sauce to accompany the wine for dinner.

We enjoyed our after dinner evening, a quick chat with our new neighbours (who arrived today), and met their friendly and gentle German Shepherd that Hobbes was trying to check out from under their RV earlier in the day. Popcorn and marshmallows complemented the evening coffee around our firepit.

Time for showers and a calling it a night. On the move in the morning.
