Map - Port Ordze to Trenville Park

Trenville Park, AB (2 stars)

Alright, we are underway. Off to Blackfalds and then Trenville Park on the Red Deer River.

The weather at our destination is hot and without wind. The absolute stillness and lack of 'city' noise is incredible. As we eat supper, we can hear the coyotes in the distance, along with some cows and many types of birds.

At midnight, the sky is full of stars and it is absolutely quiet.

Lez has the place tethered: Yes, we are heading out again on those roads less gravelled. Tanks that needed emptying are empty, and tanks needing filled are filled. Our first night planned is at a non-services campground along the Red Deer River.

We stopped briefly in Blackfalds to drop a quilt and some pattern books with QOVC rep Nicole. Then, leaving the QE II highway, we started our way east along the smaller paved roads, and worked our way to our stop for the night. Truly no services - not even cell service in the campsites. After setting up we wandered to the shore of the river. It's looking a little low so we wondered if the mountain melt has already been through.

We roasted our hot-dog dinner on the open fire, and later enjoyed our coffee with open fire S'Mores . The clear skies were not even dark, but lots of stars twinkling as we doused the fire and headed inside to call it a night. It is so incredibly peaceful out here.
