Caught between a Flying J and a long drag.

Port Ordze, Sherwood Park AB (2 stars)

So, when you have an RV, you need to regularly empty the waste tanks. When we were here a year ago, we would fill the portable tank and drive over to the Flying J service station to dump it. Now, we are able to use a pipe that goes into Zeissler's sewage system. All we need to do is haul the tank over rough grass about 50 meters. It is still easier, but hooked up in an RV park is the most convenient.

Lez is up to her elbows in the fridge: Yes, truly a house - just on wheels. Fridges need defrosting and this one is not one of the new-fangled "self defrosting". (Note to self - should there be a next RV it will have the self defrost). The ice build-up on the cooling flanges was my own procrastination. So out came the little cooler to keep the frozen items frozen and milk cold. To speed up the thawing of the ice build up, lots of water was boiled and refreshing a cake pan in the fridge was filled and re-filled to melt away the ice. (hey - it's flat and glass - the steam system works!). With the drip pan catching the water , it only took "forever" to get done. (ok, it was about an hour). But it's clean, ice free and also now a little more room for more stuff.

The weather is going to "tank" in the next couple of days, but today we enjoyed windows open and the fresh air, and Hobbes enjoyed surveying and marking his property.
