The bull elk was bugling.

Whistlers Campground, Jasper AB (3 stars)

Sometimes it just feels right to take an extra day somewhere and use it to do some chores, fix some things, enjoy the surroundings. We did just that today and stayed one more day at Whistlers Campground.

Late in the evening we could hear a bull Elk bugling somewhere outside. He could have been very close to the Schooner for all we know.

Well, I am entering my blog for the day, it is 11:40 pm. And the strangest noise sounded from outside - I thought maybe a car wheel was screeching - but realized it wasn't. I think it was very likely the bull elk we saw earlier today along the edge of the campground. Only this sounded like it was literally outside the dining window. It is absolutely pitch dark out there - as we opened the RV door and saw lots of stars - but no moon lighting up the land tonight. Pitch dark, clear skies. It will be a cool night. Doors are closed and locked!

This evening we enjoyed a cheese fondue and watched two movies. Lee is just finishing up the evening's dishes as I finally get to my blog. Time to call it a day.
