And a dry camping we will go.

Map - Grande Prairie to Gregg Lake

Gregg Lake Campground, William A. Switzer Provincial Park, AB (2 stars)

Lee concludes that this will be a rainy day, driving from Grande Prairie to Gregg River Campground in Switzer Provincial Park. Eh, not so much. We even had some sunshine.

Stopped for groceries and lunch in Grande Cache. The town, now a hamlet, is pretty quiet, probably because coal mining has taken a deep dive.

Gregg Lake campground is very treed, smells like pine, is close to the lake and very, very quiet. We might have three other occupants in the campground which has now been reduced to just one loop. So, so quiet except for our generator and the one running at one of the other sites. Yes, we are dry camping and suffering terribly, not.

Skies threatened to dump rain on us as we travelled, but we seemed to be following a trail of more sun than cloud. It is now 7:44pm and it is getting dark and the rain has suddenly hit. And thunder too.

We are comfy and warm, yes in our campsite with no services, it appears cell service is now accessible. We had iffy service earlier while we travelled through country somewhat foothills mountains. So, with our generator running we actually have power for our computers and the fireplace.

Dinner was cooked in the gas oven, which also helped warm up the Schooner. We do have a propane furnace, so if it gets truly cold, we have heat. Our potable water tank is full, must be time to make coffee! Jello dessert anyone
