Harlequin     [Jul 31, 2022]

This trip's travel Calendar Back Home

The main stage show was done and it was time for the after-show on the second stage. Lez and I walked over in time for the start.

Harlequin has been a favourite band of ours for many years. We have seen them with some different members, including Paul McNair who is now with Streetheart. But, the band remains centered around George Belanger.

Despite George having a sore throat, they put on an amazing show. They really should have performed on the main stage in our opinion. Lee always look forward to watching Derrick Gottfried 'work' his guitar. What a talented guitar player.

At the end of the show a young girl came out from back stage; we think she is related to a band or crew member. A.J. Chabidon who play drums took her onto his kit and they drummed a bit together. What a nice sight that was.

Harlequin is a band we first saw in 2011. Listening to them tonight was like being taken back 11 years and nothing's changed. The music is great, the band is spot on, and even the guys have not aged enough to be unrecognizable. They still appear to have fun on stage, they sing to the crowd and feed on our response.

The young lady who joined the band on drums was grinning ear to ear. AJ tapped along with her - but she was super! Another sigh when their set was over. Oh what a night!

Thank you George for singing through that sore throat - you did well and I hope you are able to talk again today. Rest up and catch you again in concert.
