We finally had an opportunity to see some long-time friends who now live on the Island. We drove out to Ladysmith and had a nice visit with John and Colleen Manuel and with Norm and Pat Brin. A great time with lots of stories of life and adventures that we had not been able to share for a couple of years.
Lez smiles: The Macarena. 12 ladies who met in a new neighbourhood in the early 80's, who babysat each other's children and who are now very true and long-standing friends and support. Brins and Manuels both moved out to the Island a few years back (coincidentally not purposely). We have been very socially isolated, and our party of 6 enjoyed a sunny safe gathering on the driveway - typical of the old La Perle neighbourhood. Caught up on a year's worth of life. We do meet in Zoom sessions, but conversation doesn't "flow" quite like live chat. We are all well, which is a blessing.
